Akhenaton “Yung Bredda” Lewis is no longer just the King of Steam. The 25-year-old musical performer from Sea Lots, Port of Spain, has become a multifaceted musical force, representing Trinidad and Tobago — and the Caribbean.
Yung Bredda is helping to reshape what it means to be a Caribbean artiste in this new age of entertainment where a hunger for authenticity reigns supreme.
He first captured the public’s attention during the pandemic with viral freestyles, raunchy punchlines, and an energy referred to as “zess” that taps into a rebellion against the typical, embracing what feels real.
He has since been on a rise, signed to Optimus Productions, and with longtime manager and producer Jesse John at the helm, he claimed his space in Carnival 2025 as a visionary hitmaker.
His chart-topping hit “The Greatest Bend Over”, written by Shaft and produced by Full Blown Entertainment, reached #1 on Apple Music T&T in December 2024, and held that position for 18 days into January. With a cinematic music video directed by Kieran Khan (Sean Paul’s official videographer) and over 1.9 million YouTube views, the track marked a global turning point. But Bredda isn’t resting on his laurels.
