There is no doubt that life can be messy and complicated, most times and for most of us. Sometimes you can't seem to catch a break. And again, for most of us, our default mode is to complain. It really is difficult to break that habit and to see beyond the immediate issue or challenge.
I speak from experience, and from being a sounding board for others who just need to vent. Venting is good; especially with someone you absolutely trust. You get to unload, uninterrupted, without reservations about how the other person will 'see you'. It's good for your mental health!
You know what else is good for your mental health? An outdoor walk … in nature. And I don't just mean the man-made manicured, orderly lawns and gardens. I mean the honest-to-goodness, God-given, all-shades-of-green and oftentimes disorderly bush.
Experts say a walk in nature is good for your mind, body and soul, and everything in between. Just Google it. But I don't need Google to convince me of what I already experience in real life.
For me, walking the bush, oftentimes unaccompanied, is euphoric, my happy pill! Can't describe it. Also can't understand why most people don't make time to appreciate that our natural world is truly and awesomely incredible.
