I’ve always dreamed of representing Trinidad and Tobago. It’s one of the greatest honours you can have,” says Anna-Lise Nanton, Miss World T&T 2025. You only have to visit Nanton’s social media pages to see the local love flooding in. “The queen of our hearts forever,” proclaims one commenter. Another declares, “So proud to have you represent our sweet T&T.” Nanton, an avid sportswoman, once thought she’d represent the country at the Olympics. But while she hasn’t made it there (yet!), she says, “Miss World became another beautiful way to wear my flag with pride.”
Another declares, “So proud to have you represent our sweet T&T.” Nanton, an avid sportswoman, once thought she’d represent the country at the Olympics. But while she hasn’t made it there (yet!), she says, “Miss World became another beautiful way to wear my flag with pride.” Nanton’s love affair with pageants began in childhood, when she watched the Miss World T&T finals, filled with admiration for the women on stage. “There was something about their charisma, confidence, and refinement that really stood out to me. As someone who’s naturally more shy and reserved, I always hoped to cultivate those qualities in myself.” If you’ve seen Nanton represent the nation, you may be surprised to hear her describe herself as shy. She’s a polished, engaging speaker, with a warm smile and a genuine passion for service.
Committed to giving back
Perhaps one of the reasons so many Trinbagonians have fallen for her is her commitment to giving back. “I had just moved back home after studying civil engineering abroad,” says the former open scholarship winner. “When I learned more about the Beauty With A Purpose aspect of Miss World, I was completely drawn in.” Nanton has been volunteering with her grandmother since she was a teen.
